The 2281 Business & Community Network is more than just a
Chamber of Commerce :
* Assist and supports various community organisations
co-ordinate Community Events by providing assistance
with completing necessary applications, risk management plans,
relevant contacts in local organisations, providing necessary
insurances, costs such as printing etc.

• New Years Eve Celebrations in partnership with Swansea
RSL
• Jazz In The Pines in partnership with Caves Beach Surf
Lifesaving Club

Bay Surf Lifesaving Club
• Vibe 2007 in partnership with New Hope Christian Church
Annual Fund Raising Ball
• Held each year to raise funds to pay for Public Liability
Insurance and to assist with various events.
* Networking Opportunities
Many business owners/managers feel isolated or too busy to make
valuable contacts within the local business and consumer community.
By becoming a member business owners/managers can be part of the
flow of information by receiving updates via email, at general
meetings, breakfast meetings or specific purpose workshops. Not

Network can help or refer you to the best point of reference.
* Information
As a member of the 2281 Business & Community Network you will
receive up to date information on issues that affect your business
or organisation. Information is sent to the Chamber from local,
state and federal government departments as well as from other
Chamber and businesses. Make decisions and plans based on fact
not rumour.
* Represent local view points on issues at local, state
and federal government levels
It is said that there is safety in number but there is also power.
The 2281 Business & Community Network works on behalf of its
members in the interest of the local area and makes representation
as a united voice of the local area.
* MCM
The Mobile Community Monitor (MCM) is a term given to a comprehensive
community based program developed in direct response to the Community’s
demand for support and guidance in issues concerning their general
Safety and Personal Security.
It is a strategy developed by the Swansea & Districts Chamber
of Commerce Inc. in partnership and following extensive consultation
with the Community and Local Area Command (NSW Police0 representatives.
The basic increments of the Mobile Community Monitor
(MCM) service are :
1. Developing routines and schedules for community surveillance
2. Activated Alarm response (Business, Club and residential premises)
3. Use a designated vehicle with GPS & radio / mobile communication
facilities
4. Observing the situation and activities within the communities
in the area specified
5. Reporting safety / security incidents
6. Promoting information / communication with local Police &
7. Promoting Police approved Crime Reporting procedures within
the community.
