CALL 131 444

This is the Police Assistance Line.

It is used to report incidents / provide you with an ‘event number’ when there is :

  • No crime in progress / No immediate threat to your person/property
  • No traumatised victims
  • No evidence of serious crime
  • Little evidence/probability of the crime being solved
  • No need for a physical response from the Police (attendance)
  • Agreement that your report can be made to the Police over the telephone.

In such cases as:

  • Stealing offences when the perpetrator has left the scene
  • Break & Enter offences when the perpetrator has left the scene
  • Malicious Damage (eg: destruction of property )
  • Lost property
  • Stolen vehicle reports (immediate reporting may help the Police

locate the perpetrator due to previous incidents/patterns of behaviour).

  • Minor vehicle crashes
  • Miscellaneous Information EG: vandalism.

  • REMEMBER that the Police can only record and react to crimes that are reported. Even incidents that may seem very unimportant at the time, may help fill in the missing piece of a puzzle, which is in fact affecting many people/residents of your community.

NSW Police Crime Stoppers : 1800 333 000 is the number to call to confidentially provide information relating to individuals, locations or activities that may be causing concern in your area.

By reporting all crimes, offences and losses you are supplying vital information to the Police, which is the basis of their statistics - the material they use to build community Crime profiles and allocate Police resources.
